Fitter Engineering task

In the role of Fitter, students use a virtual voltmeter to identify a fault at one of the island substations. Once the fault has been found, the user has to isolate it, while keeping as many homes and business connected to the network as possible.

After completing this activity students will:

  • Understand how a voltmeter might be used to find faults.
  • Understand how fitters will try to resolve faults by re-routing supplies.
